Dear Friend,

We recently observed the first yahrzeit of Rabbi Dr. E.F. Einhorn, of blessed memory, who passed away on erev Yom Kippur last year at the age of 103.

To mark this solemn occasion, we held a gathering of long-time Jewish community members to unveil a bronze plaque dedicating our library in his name: The Rabbi Dr. E.F. Einhorn Memorial Library. Located in our synagogue at the JCC, the library contains several hundred titles representing a large portion of his private collection of books, which were generously donated by his partner, Eugenia.

Dr. Einhorn was an avid collector of books pertaining to a broad range of topics, including Torah and Talmud studies, theology, history, rituals and observance, holidays and lifecycle events, literature, and the Holocaust.

Whenever he would lead Shabbat or holiday services, he was always surrounded by his books, and he always made them available to community members who wished to deepen their understanding of Judaism and Jewish history.

These books have been catalogued and placed on the shelves of the library, and are available to JCC members and friends for their reading enjoyment.

Please join me in thanking Eugenia for this tremendous contribution to the JCC.

Warm regards,

Jeffrey D. Schwartz & NaTang
