Dear Friends,

Ukraine is under attack. This senseless and tragic invasion is putting millions of innocent lives at risk. Many have chosen to flee to neighboring countries, while many are staying at home, under the constant threat of military bombardment.

Hundreds of thousands of our Jewish brothers and sisters fear for their lives, including aging survivors of the Holocaust and Soviet-era persecution.

Whether they are leaving the country and immigrating to Israel or other nations, or they are staying in Ukraine, the Jews of Ukraine need our help now more than ever.

We are in close touch with the Jewish Agency staff in Jerusalem, and they have told us they are working round-the-clock to provide assistance to Ukrainian Jews, including those who are staying in the country, and those who have decided to flee. Many have decided to make Aliyah to Israel.

Please make a contribution to the Jewish Agency for Israel, the largest and longest running non-profit organization responsible for building the State of Israel and for helping millions of Jews immigrate there.

The Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association and JTCA Board members have pledged money to this important effort. We encourage you to do your part and send whatever you can to help the innocent people who are impacted by this tragedy. As the saying goes, “Kol Israel Areivim Zeh Bazeh” which means “All Jews are responsible for one another.”

Simply click this link which will take you to the Jewish Agency for Israel’s North American Council web page where you can make your contribution.

Here’s a short video I created at the request of the Jewish Agency as part of a series they are sharing on social media called “Global messages of solidary with the Ukraine Jewish community.” It’s my brief personal appeal to our community to support this critical effort.

Let’s pray for the safety and well-being of everyone in Ukraine, and hope we see the swift return of peace.
