Dear friends
As the Chairman and co-founder of the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA), it was both an honor and a privilege to share my experiences and insights with the bright minds at National Taiwan University (NTU) during a recent lecture. The goal of my talk was simple yet profound: to inspire students to step out of their comfort zones and embrace the journey of self-discovery and entrepreneurship.
I began by sharing my own personal journey, a tale of departing from the predetermined path set by my family. Coming from a background of a rather successful business, my father envisioned a future where I would step in his shoes. However, I had different motivations. Opting for a less conventional path, I ventured to India, embracing a lifestyle of simplicity while studying Buddhism. This phase of my life was a testament to the idea that familial expectations should not confine one’s dreams.
When arriving to Taiwan, with the support of my father, I later found myself in a job that I disliked. It was a pivotal moment when I recognized the opportunities that a growing economy presented. Subsequently, I founded the Fourstar Group, a company, driven by a vision to create high quality products at below market prices, thus contributing to the betterment of society by allowing those on a limited income enjoy purchasing safely and with less strain on their finances.
