Dear Friend,

It was an eventful week at the JCC! Here’s a quick recap (plus a reminder about our upcoming Passover Seder dinner, which is selling out briskly!)

On Sunday we celebrated the birthday of our good friend Moshe. He was joined by his wife Ilana, sons, and friends. Our Kosher Culinary Lab chef baked a custom cake with a Star of David made out of fresh blueberries.

Mezuzah!

This week we affixed the mezuzot on the doorposts of the JCC, drawing upon our collection of beautiful antique mezuzot in our museum.

A mezuzah is a small parchment scroll upon which the Hebrew words of the Shema, the central prayer of the Jewish faith, are handwritten by a scribe.

Mezuzot mark a home as Jewish and remind those who live there of their connection to G‑d and their heritage.

Media buzz

Storm Media, a leading online news outlet, interviewed me recently and published two stories (in Chinese): my personal story and the story of how NaTang and I designed and built the JCC, and another story that explores kosher food and the Kosher Culinary Lab.

Book your seat at the Seder!

A friendly reminder to book your seats at our first Passover Seder banquet at the beautiful new ballroom of the JCC! Seats are selling out surprisingly fast.

Click here if you’d like to use our secure online credit card option.

Or click here if you prefer to pay with cash or bank transfer.

(Please note: Pre-payment is essential for this event since we can’t exchange money on Passover, and it’ll help us plan how much food our kosher kitchen team needs to prepare.)

See you at the Seder!

Shabbat Shalom,
